Bahraini Obstinance Raised in Written Statement to UN

At the 30th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the Bahrain Institute for Rights & Democracy, Americans for Democracy and Human Rights and the Bahrain Center for Human Rights, submitted a written statement on the subject of human rights abuses in Bahrain. The statement discussed the continued failure of the Bahraini government to engage in a dialogue with the United Nations and other international organizations. Despite promises from Bahrain to improve its systematic offences and its claims to participate in a more open discussion regarding reform, there continues to be a lack of government effort to follow through with these promises. ADHRB calls on the UN Member States to renew their efforts in pressuring Bahrain to re-establish cooperation with the international community in order to improve the human rights situation.
